Beginning a New Chapter
As
we celebrate our 12th birthday as a church, we are about to embark on
another great adventure together. In some ways, the last 12 years have
seemed to pass by very quickly. It has been incredible to look back
and realize all that the Lord has accomplished among us.
My greatest
memories are of the times when God challenged us to believe Him for
great things, the times He asked us to break from the status quo and
stretch our faith. During those times, we really experienced His
presence in a special way as we saw Him do the impossible. In Joshua, Chapter
4, God tells the Israelites to place 12 stones next to the Jordan
River as a monument to His faithfulness. Prophetically, I believe that
we too are about to place a 12th stone of remembrance in our history
together
As you know,
Vineyard Boise has continually grown from the start. The Lord has
always been faithful to bless our efforts to evangelize the unchurched
and disciple those who have joined us. this year, we planted a new
Vineyard in Meridian in an attempt to alleviate some of our growth
pains. Amazingly, we have already felled those empty seats with new
people. And one of our youth services is so full that teen-agers are
either sharing seats or standing. Our children's ministry has some
classrooms that are very full, and our mid-week discipleship events
are in constant need of adequate space. We are all aware of the fact
that even our bathroom facilities and foyer are no longer sufficient
for our celebration services on Sundays. I think it is clear that the
time has come to start the process of expansion, so that we don't inhibit
the steady growth that God is bringing to us.
As we commit together
to upgrade and expand our facilities, we are looking at a year of
discomfort, inconvenience and financial sacrifice. This project will
require tremendous faith and teamwork like we have never experienced
before, but in the end we will place our 12th stone of remembrance
together as a people.
We will have an
incredible story to tell our children and future generations a story
of the great things God has among us as we have trusted Him.

Answering The Call
The pathway to a fulfilled
vision is prayer, trust and obedience. Each of us - not just a core of
church leaders - must listen and respond to God's call. Not everyone
can give at the same level, but every gift is important. The success
of this giving campaign will be a result of all of us giving what God
has enabled and called us to give.
More than 1,000 households give
regular tithes and offerings to Vineyard Boise. Planned giving and
small sacrifices are the keys to reaching our goal. For example:
 |
If 1,000 people (about half
of Vineyard Boise) gave up drinking pop for two years, we would
have $438,000 - 22% of our goal.
|
 |
If 1,000 people gave up one
latte a week for two years we would have $260,000 - 13% of our
goal.
|
 |
If 1,000 households gave up
cable TV for two years, we would have $720,000 - 36% of our goal.

Home
for the Harvest
This stained glass window will
be the centerpiece of Vineyard Boise's new entry atrium. Estimated to
be more than 200 years old, the 12-by-4-foot window features a simple
depiction of an open Bible. Tri and Nancy Robinson purchased the
window from New England Demolition & Salvage in Wareham, MA.
