The
Winepress
Why Small Groups?
A small group is a
face-to-face gathering of
three or more people where
Truth is processed and
Life is experienced.
We call our directory of small groups the “winepress” — and that’s an
appropriate name. The winepress is the place where grapes were processed
into wine. In Biblical times the winepress was a large trough hollowed
out of limestone bedrock. It would be filled with ripe grapes, and
several people, standing on the soft pulp, stomped on the grapes with
their bare feet as they sang and shouted (it was a time of great
celebration). It was a messy business that turned the skin red and left
your clothes marked too. This is what we hope you will find in every
small group connected with Vineyard Boise
 |
A place of community
and celebration. |
 |
A place where truth is
harvested, shared and
thoroughly processed
(with our bare feet!) and
not just left “on the vine”
to admire. |
 |
A place where we are
divinely marked by life
change that is more than
skin deep. |
Discipleship Groups
These are groups that are committed to living out the Vineyard
values together — worship, prayer, ministry, reproduction and community.
These groups also value tracking with Sunday’s teaching at the Vineyard
and processing it together.
