Ongoing Benevolence MinistriesBenevolence is just a fancy word for "servant." It means to be kindhearted or giving. Benevolence Ministries is the specialist ministry at Vineyard Boise under which all of the servant ministries to the poor and homeless are organized.
The Pantry is a ministry to the local community. We currently open the Pantry on Wednesday and Saturday mornings from 10am to 12pm. This ministry helps serve the needs of low-income individuals and families by providing a box of groceries. We also offer prayer ministry to the people who come in during these hours. We currently have four teams that serve once a month. Also during the week we have several volunteers that help serve the walk-ins, answer phones, and organize the warehouse.
Feeding God's Children is our ministry to people in need of a hot meal on Sunday afternoon. Every Sunday after church we have teams of people that set up meals in Julia Davis Park for those who are homeless or low- income. We also provide fellowship, prayer teams, Bibles, and other Christian reading materials. Volunteers serve on a team once a month, shop for supplies, and give rides to church to some of these same people on Sunday.
The Garden
has been established right here on our property. This is a great
opportunity for those who have a green thumb or those who would like to
learn to join in the fun of a community garden. You can grow some of your
own produce, swap with fellow gardeners and give the surplus to those in
need through the Barnabas Ministry.
