Vineyard Leadership
Institute - Why
Choose VLI

Why Choose VLI
We have a mandate from Jesus to disciple the nations. This
means we evangelize, plant, and pastor churches, and that we raise up other
leaders to do the same. How and where will these emerging leaders be
trained? The track record of traditional theological institutions that are
abstracted from the life of the local church has not been good. However, at
the Vineyard Leadership Institute we have the following advantages that most
traditional seminaries do not offer:
 | We train students practically, spiritually, and
academically for ministry in the context of the local church. |
 | Students enjoy the benefits of hands-on ministry
training. |
 | Students develop a mentoring relationship with
members of the pastoral staff. |
 | At the same time, students receive excellent
biblical-theological instruction. |
VLI's purpose is to train leaders who will:
 | Plant new churches and/or lead ministries in order to
evangelize non-Christians and to disciple them. |
 | Demonstrate godly character, obedience and spiritual
depth in their homes, churches, workplaces and communities. |
 | Be kingdom people who grasp the biblical message of
the Kingdom of God and who seek to communicate and demonstrate it
through words and works. |
Our Students
 | VLI will enable students to develop a sound,
Christ-centered theology by providing the knowledge and skills needed to
understand the scriptures. |
 | VLI will mentor students in the ministries of the
church, to develop and hone their leadership skills, to discover their
individual gifts and talents and to recognize the ministry God would
have them pursue. |
 | VLI will encourage the students to draw close to God
through personal prayer and meditation, so they may know His great love
for them. |
 | VLI will work with students to encourage a passion
for God's work in the world and through His church. |
Student Leadership Development
We believe the best environment for training is the home
field where students are in relationship with their pastors, other believers
and their community. This training not only brings growth to the students
but it strengthens their church and enables it to expand its ministries and
to plant new churches.
While VLI draws on the talents of many well-known
scholars and provides intense instruction in the scriptures, it is not a
seminary, and it is not accredited. Students who complete the full two-year
program and fulfill its requirements receive a VLI diploma. |
